3D printing and prototyping along with Roto Casting are just some of the services Bray Plastics can offer its customers.
The images illustrate tooling and a prototype of a blow moulded cassette used in the refrigerated packaging industry.
Files supplied by the customer were used to machine (in house) polyurethane (PU) modelling board for the tooling. This in turn was used to resin cast a prototype on our roto casting machine. We can also use silicone tooling casting methods on the same machine.
PU tooling has the advantage of lasting much longer than its silicone alternative. This particular tooling has had over a hundred castings.

Peli Cases have a worldwide reputation for ruggedized cases and shipping containers. One of their UK subsidiaries have a multinational client who required modification to a standard case to enable the fitting of drawers. These would be used by their service engineers maintaining wind turbines in the North Sea.
Having worked for Peli on numerous projects in the past, Bray Plastics were engaged to design and produce a solution for this challenging application.
Using vacuum forming and fabrication techniques we produced the drawers and their supports in ABS. Foam components were laser cut from sheet material and structural adhesives used in assembly to minimise mechanical fasteners and maintain the integrity of the case.
Bray Plastics designed and produced the tooling as well as the production manufacture of the drawers, along with the fitting to the cases supplied by Peli.
