Bray Plastics are team of highly experienced engineers (over 150 years combined experience in the industry), specialising in bespoke plastic fabrication. We have been working with a wide variety of customers to help them develop and manufacture their products and custom parts for over 30 years.

As a Bray Team Member you will:-

  • Work a 40 hour week 7am till 3pm Monday to Friday
  • Be enrolled into our Government Workplace Pension
  • 22 days holiday plus bank holidays

Salary £12.50/hr (approx. £26k)– £15.40/hr (approx. £32.k) dependant on experience

Position Overview:-

  • Programming (on and offline).
  • Modify and create CAD drawings from scratch
  • Setting and operating our CNC Routers
  • Setting and running manual mills and lathes in the small batch production of 2D and 3D plastic parts.
  • Produce jigs and fixtures as required, to facilitate production
  • Perform 1st off inspections for production items
  • Ensure all orders are manufactured by the required date and to the customers required standard
  • Work from anything from verbal requests and sketches to full 3D cad files to produce a finished part.
  • Carry out post-machining, finishing ops such as gluing, deburring and polishing
  • The person should be an “engineer” with good hand skills, rather than just a machinist capable of quickly learning new equipment and processes.

 

Essential:

  • Proven CNC milling or routing experience – minimum 3 years as a programmer/setter/op
  • Manual machining experience on lathes and mills. ( 1 year+)
  • CAD/CAM experience – 1 year, should be able to program a basic part on and offline working from a sketch or engineering drawing.
  • Be familiar with a variety of electric machinery (saws etc.) and hand tools
  • Good IT skills (Office 365, CadCam minimum)
  • Ability to confidently read engineering drawings
  • Ability to read and use measuring equipment to ensure production items are to tolerance.
  • Self-motivated with a good eye for detail and a practical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
  • Character should be suitable to work effectively in a small friendly team where you need to get involved in all aspects of the business.
  • Communication skills should be at a point where they can confidently interact with colleagues and clients about technical and other issues.

Desirable:

  • Experience of machining plastics
  • Experience with ONECNC software
  • Experience with NUMPAS, Anilam and/or Fagor
  • Forklift licence

  • Proven fabrication experience
  • Experience of working with plastics
  • Ability to confidently read engineering drawings
  • Ability to read and use measuring equipment to ensure production items are to tolerance.
  • Forklift licence
